About Us
National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT) is a registered autonomous society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 promoted by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. The Council is responsible for organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating the arrangements for cooperative training for the personnel working in the cooperative sector in the country.
The Council has established its own training structure comprising of the VAMNICOM, Pune at National Level, Five Regional Institutes of Cooperative Management (including Kalyani) and 14 Institutes of Cooperative Management across India.
Background
The Institute was established by the Reserve Bank of India on 1st June, 1956 as Block Level Training Centre with the principal initiative of the Architect of Modern Bengal Late Dr. B. C. Roy, the then Chief Minister, for Eastern and North Eastern Regions.
- 1956 – 1967: Conducted General Basic Course (G.B.C.) and refreshers courses. Renamed to Cooperative Training Centre in 1962.
- 1968 – 1973: Renamed as Cooperative Training College to cater to Senior & Intermediate level personnel.
- 1974 – 1990: Renamed as Netaji Subhas Cooperative Training College in 1980. Started Sectoral Diploma Courses.
- 1992 – 1995: Renamed as Netaji Subhas Institute of Cooperative Management.
- 1996 – 2000: Upgraded to Regional Institute of Cooperative Management by NCCT.
- 2006 – onwards: Diversified activities by introducing programmes like Agri-Clinics & Agri-Business Centres Scheme.

Mission
NSRICM’s mission is to guide the personnel of Cooperatives and allied Departments in improving their managerial skills to achieve the noble objective of cooperatives through adaptation of modern managerial techniques.

- To organize workshops/seminars and symposia for officials of the region.
- To conduct research on various facets of the cooperative movement.
- To provide academic support to cooperative training centres.
- To assess training requirements and organize specialized programmes.
Committees of the Institute
- Governing Council: At the level of NCCT, New Delhi.
- State Programme Advisory Committee: Guides, plans and approves the annual calendar of training programmes.
- Building Sub-Committee: Evaluates and approves matters related to building maintenance.
